Sept 30 to Oct 1 more exploring and Sausalito

Sept 30 we went back downtown to the cable cars, very busy and loaded with too many people. It is hard to believe that they allow people to just hang off.
The day had a lot of fog and a little mist. Here we are at Hyde beach.

We had lunch at Alto's with a great view of the fishing boats.
You can see the fog coming into the bay. Also, the sailboat was boarded by the Coast Guard boat.
October 1 we took a ferry from Pier 41 to Sausalito.
It was a cool ride, but very enjoyable. Pam and Don are keeping warm.
As we crossed the bay we came close to Alcatraz. We were suppose to take a tour, but because of the government closures they canceled all tours.
The large boat was anchored at Sausalito and the small boats with kids are going out to have a race.
Sausalito is a beautiful town across the from San Francisco, but a very different atmosphere. It is like going back in time. A sailing town with hundreds of boats docked.
This is one of the many docks full of sailboats. It seemed ashame that we couldn't use one.

Today the sky is clear and as we head back to San Francisco.
